I got up at 6 am with my heart beating a mile a minute! I was SO nervous about my 8 mile run this morning. I haven't been able to do a lot of running this week because Faith just got back in town from her dad's. We started off at 7:10 this morning and I managed to get the 8 miles done in 1 hour and 50 minutes. I questioned my sanity and ability for the last 2 miles of the run. The heat was deadly mixed in with the humidity. But, I did it. On the 4th mile, there were these vultures feasting on a dead armadillo and I thought for sure that would me on the way back! But, I managed to make it all in one piece. I feel great, too! We had a pancake breakfast in honor of Duncan, one of our Honored Heroes' half birthday. He was so sweet and he clung to me easily. He showed me his rocks he collected and gave me sweet raspberries on my sweaty arm. When Faith showed up, she got all nervous and shy around him. Duncan will be 7 in December. It was too cute.

I could go on and on about the emotions I have experienced today. It is so fulfilling and I am so proud to be doing this for such a great cause. :) I can't wait until my next run! Till then!! :)
